On August 28, 1963 Martin Luther King Jr. spoke at the Lincoln Memorial during the March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom. The ‘I have a dream' speech is one of the most famous in history.

April 4, 1968 Martin Luther King Jr. is assassinated.

On November 3, 1983 President Ronald Reagan signed a bill making the third Monday of every January Martin Luther King, Jr. day, which is around the time of his birthday.

If you’d like to download the entire speech you can find it here-

Things have improved since he gave that famous speech but racism still exists. In order for it truly to end we must, instead of judging someone by their skin color, say ‘I will be your friend' and get to know them for who they are on the inside. And we must treat everyone with respect first, regardless of their race.

One day his dream will come true, but we have to work together to achieve it.

What do you think? Will we ever have peace between the people? How do you think we can accept one another and get along?

Sometimes I write, sometimes I edit what I write, but mostly I daydream, and fantasize about writing.⁣⁣ AndiLutz.com⁣⁣ *My posts may contain affiliate links*
