I used to open a Word doc on my laptop and write. That's the old 1998 way of doing it. Wait, wait, wait, I forgot another step, I would turn my laptop on, wait five or ten minutes for it to boot up, then open Word and type. Usually, I would get distracted while waiting for my ancient technology to wake up. I'd have to pry myself away from whatever time-wasting I was doing on my phone and if I was successful at that I would write.

Once done I would back it up to both OneDrive and Google Drive manually. One day I wrote something and only saved it to Google Drive because I was feeling lazy. I went back in to edit it and it disappeared.

I decided that I was never going to do that again, trust in clouds that just float away. They have one job, and when they can't do that I'm out.

The only thing that's never failed me is email, it's always there. Keepin' it 1998 is how I role, that was the prime of my life. Trusty old email is reliable. Even if I don't send the email it's still in drafts, even if it can't be sent it's in the outbox, and if it sends it's in the sent box and the inbox (I email it to myself.) Now that's backed up! It's always there.
