Why I decided to Wear a Uniform for Life

Instead of being a Fashionista

I used to spend hours putting outfits together. My clothes would be strung all over my room. I’d have a mess to clean up, often clothes to re-iron, but I looked good. Maybe. Trends are just that, trendy. In a few decades you’ll look back and think, ‘what the hell was I thinking?’ Fashion is subjective.

So, why not just wear the same thing everyday.

I always wanted a Jetson’s machine that got you showered and dressed and all you had to do was stand there. Well, I took some of the thinking out of it by wearing the same type and color of clothing. No worrying about what goes with what. No buying clothes I think look cute but just don’t work for my body type or aren’t my color.

I don’t look like a slob

I open my closet and everything goes with everything. I grab a few things, put them on and I’m done. I have time to spend on things that matter. Don’t get me wrong, I still look good, I don’t look like a slob, I spend time to make sure I’m presentable. But not a lot. And it’s done in no time so I have more time to write, be with my family, eat, read, or any other fun thing besides obsessing over clothes.

So, what’s in my wardrobe?

Neutrals, neutrals, neutrals. And clothes that look good on my body type. No patterns. Simple, classic, timeless.

If I need color I can accessorize with vibrant or muted colors or just do solid colorful clothes that all go with each other.

What do you think? Could you Wear a Uniform for Life? Do you already?

Sometimes I write, sometimes I edit what I write, but mostly I daydream, and fantasize about writing.⁣⁣⁣⁣ *My posts may contain affiliate links*
